Street Pastors is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and dialogue.

It was pioneered in London in January 2003 by Rev Les Isaac, Director of the Ascension Trust, and has seen some remarkable results, including drops in crime in areas where teams have been working. There are now over 100 teams around the United Kingdom.

ACTS trust is a new community charity in the process of being set up by New Life Christian Fellowship in Lincoln. The trust is being created to build on the community projects started by volunteers in the church.

We will be an umbrella charity that oversees several projects working with lots of different communities in our city.We are all about getting along side people in our city and helping to meet their needs. By connecting communities, building relationships and meeting one need at a time we aim to transform this city we call home.

Public opinion shows that there is a negative stigma attached to homelessness. We need to raise awareness of the severity of this problem. Here in Lincoln, The Nomad Trust works towards helping homeless people from all walks of life to regain their independence and self-respect. When a person is at their lowest ebb, we are here to offer shelter, food, warmth and companionship together with guidance and support. Working with some of the most vulnerable people in society, The Nomad Trust is providing more than just a roof over people's heads.

Christian Aid works to expose the scandal of poverty, to help in practical ways to root it out from the world, and to challenge and change the systems that favour the rich and powerful over the poor and marginalised.

Find out about how your support translates into lives transformed. Learn about projects, people and local partner organisations we work with. Understand the causes of poverty and how we tackle them.

This is how together we make change happen.

The Mission Statement of Lincolnshire YMCA is:

“To demonstrate our faith through social action”

It is this mission statement which should underpin all of our work. In exploring this further our ethos is that we should show care and respect for any individual with whom we come into contact, whether that be on a sports programme for one day or a resident living with us for a longer period of time.
