Creator God,
You spoke and the world came into being.
You asked the first people to care for the earth.
We throw garbage on the ground.
We pollute the water and the air.
We don’t care for the animals, birds, insects, fish,
And other people with whom we share this planet.
We are sorry God for how we have treated the earth
and all who live on it. Please forgive us.
Help us begin afresh to live in your way, we pray.
The Earth our Home day held on 21st April 07 culminated with an imaginative act of worship at which the Presidents of CTAL were present to launch the new Environmental Framework for Action. Copies of the Prospectus for Action leaflet have been sent to every church in Lincolnshire so that every member of every congregation can have a copy. If you would like a copy please contact the CTAL Office.
50 things that will save the planet. Tear Fund's 40 day carbon fast
Six Fact Sheets to support the Environmental Framework for Action are in preparation and will cover energy, water, waste, transport, bio-diversity and purchasing. They are currently being prepared and added.
Climate Change - not just a green issue - a briefing paper by the Mission and Public Affairs Council
This briefing paper explores climate change as a security issue. It examines how climate change affects a range of policy issues (food, health, water energy and infrastructure), all of which have an impact on migration and conflict. It analyses how this new security agenda is influencing policy debates and subsequent efforts to secure an international agreement on climate change. It concludes by looking at the implications of this debate for how the Church approaches the issue of climate change. It asks whether the Church needs to concentrate more resources on the social justice and security concerns of many of its partners and members from across the Anglican Communion.
